Babu Ram Pokharel is a Senior City Guide and Legal Advisor at Igloo Himalaya Treks, originally from Lamjung, Nepal. With over 20 years of professional guiding experience that began in 2002, Babu Ram is one of Nepal’s most respected and articulate cultural historians.
Holding a Master’s Degree as well as official Government-Certified Tourist Guide training from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Babu Ram is also a practicing lawyer. This unique blend of academic rigour, legal insight, and deep cultural appreciation allows him to explain Nepal's intricate history, architecture, and archaeology in a friendly, conversational, and easy-to-follow way.
Over the past two decades, Babu Ram has conducted cultural and historic tours all over Nepal—from the medieval brick alleys of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur to sacred pilgrimage destinations like Lumbini and scenic heritage centres like Pokhara.
